first of all, i'm a little bit tipsy from the free dranks (woot woot hypnotiq!) we had at the free art night at the 18th street arts center.

we went there to check out the work of sandra de la loza, a local artist and generally awesome person who me earlier that day at the so-cal anarchist conference but we ran into a few precious gems, including a man named william, who in the middle of our second round of free booze quizzed us on the differences between libertarianism and anarchism. there was also ralph/rafa who got testy when sandra introduced him as ralph, "why you gotta anglocize me?" in general, we were surprised / pleased at how nice and talkative everyone was. we were expecting to get snooty glares from all the hip folks on the art scene but people had no problem approaching us and asking us random questions...it must be the middle amerkkkican charm we exude. we've also noticed that the official "second question" in los angeles, is not the expected, "what do you do?" but instead, "where do you live?" which we found interesting. what's even more hilarious is the readiness with which we provide that information...must be the middle amerkkkican naivete.
also, the art was pretty sweet. there was one artist called cindy desantis, whose studio was covered in tiny canvas/collages with children's toys and action figurines with witty quotes on them like, "kiss my big bunny ass" and "you could steal this canvas and no one would probably know." so yeah, that was cool.
so rewind to the so-cal anarchist conference.

first of all the, workshop that we went to about alternative education was pretty cool. there were some csu students there who were talking about how they were just surprised with a 20% tuition hike!!! ahhh! it seems like the block is hot in los angeles with all these crazy budget cuts.
during the break between workshops, we went outside for a little smoke break and met some cool kids, one of whom, asked us if we'd like to hotbox her car with her. she was impressed by our cuteness and thought we were adorable for rolling our own smokes (duh)...middle amerikkkan charm strikes again! we also met some fine gentlemen who were taking a break to drank in a nearby alley...people in this town seem to be real generous with their party favors. (goldstar!)
so again another heavenly day in the city of angels
xoxo
