On friday night we went to a unicorn art show, which was delightful. There were some lovely BDSM collages involving Mr. Barack Obama. We got to color and drink our own beers (Mickeys, of course). Unicorns are all about gaylove. And well so are we, duh.
I think we have started a new trend of "Quicky Mickeys" in which we chug 40's before we go to bars in order to make things more cost effective. After doing this on a bus bench next to a lady selling hot dogs wrapped in bacon (this detail becomes important to the story later, keep in mind), we proceeded to go to this bar called, The Short Stop in Echo Park. It's a pretty run of the mill hipster dive bar with a local Dodgers fan base, disco ball, and a DJ spinning decent hits. A good night overall, I think most of the interesting interactions happened in the bathroom.
Now, Emma has an alter ego named Cookie. She comes out once in a while and you can usually tell my the glaze of the eye. Well Cookie struck up some conversation with a lady in the bathroom who said she felt kind of old being 30 and all. Now this lovely lady has a child and Cookie thought it would be a good idea to sympathize with the woman by telling her she had a baby. Cookie does not have a baby. Cookie is a trickster. Cookie also acquired garbage bags in her red backpack. Cookie rulez. zzzz. Emma is a vegetarian, but Cookie loves hot dogs. And since Cookie is such a sneak, she sneaked all around outside for a smoke and sneaked right up to the bacon wrapped hot dogs and asked for extra mayo. Cookie loves mayo. Hot dogs look Cookie.
In other news, gender policing of the bathrooms at The Short Stop is alive and well. I guess LA enjoys boys wearing girl pants but doesnt really appreciate my gender performance. Very well.

Our neighborhood is a silly place. Somewhere very nearby (we dont exactly know where) a choir of dogs is let out of a house around about every hour. There has got to be at least 6 or 7 of them and they bark to the high heavens everytime they are let out. It is crazy. Maybe we will record it for you! Also, there must be an aspiring local DJ because around about 5:30 or 6:00pm on Friday and Saturday the reggaeton beats get spun real loud. Bumping, baby, bumping.
